Christmas Adopt A Family Program
Many of you have participated in our Christmas Adopt-A-Family program for the past several years. Your contributions have made a significant impact to those families in need who want to give their children a very Merry Christmas. Here’s a story we’d like to share with you.
Last year, one of our families came to the Christmas party on the bus. This family has 2 young children & feared that Christmas would not be possible. The children's only wish was to ride bicycles. As the family entered the room, there were bags of gifts waiting for them from their donor, along with 2 brand new bicycles. The children asked Santa if the bikes were really for them & when Santa affirmed, the two young children, with their eyes as big as the moon, ran over to the bicycles. As the children jumped on their bikes, the parents were crying & told their donor, “You have no idea what you have done for our family. Those children actually rode their bikes right out of the Family Resource Center. No bus ride home that day! Needless to say, not only were the parents overwhelmed with happiness, but the staff of East Valley Family Services was overjoyed by the generosity of its donors.
Someone once told me that very often, we will not see the results of the good that we do. That is why I hope this story is important to you. Your participation in this program gives the joy of the season to a family who may not otherwise even have a Christmas.
For those of you who have participated in the past, we ask that you please renew your partnership with East Valley Family Services and consider telling a friend about our Christmas Adopt-A-Family program. For our new friends, this is a program where you commit to assist a family with Christmas. You may choose the size of family you would like to help. We will send you the family’s story describing their needs, clothing sizes, a wish toy for each child & the parents' wish.
On December 19, 2015, you will have the opportunity to meet your family and experience the joy that your generosity brings, at our holiday party. If you are unable to participate or wish to remain anonymous, Santa will make sure your family receives their gifts.
We, the staff and families of East Valley Family Services, thank you.
