DESCRIPTION:Over 35\,000 residents of Nevada aged 60 and older experience food insecurity\, with many residing in Las Vegas where financial struggles are common. Thankfully\, a program is ensuring that they receive the nourishment they need. \nEast Valley Family Services runs the Golden Groceries program\, which provides essential food items to seniors in need. Once a month\, eligible seniors receive bread\, vegetables\, and canned goods\, along with a free breakfast during the food distribution. Typically\, around 150 seniors attend this monthly event. \nTo participate\, individuals must be at least 60 years old and present identification. These distributions are held on the first Friday of each month throughout the end of 2025. \nFor this initiative\, East Valley Family Services collaborates with Three Square to support hunger relief efforts.  According to Feeding America\, food insecurity among seniors has risen by approximately 45% over the past few decades.
